About us

Par St Marys Methodist Church serves the community of Par, in South East Cornwall.  We have approximately 30 people attending each Sunday.  The worship is led by members of the congregation, the minister and visiting local preachers.

Whilst the chapel looks traditional from the outside, it  is a flexible worship space on the inside, with moveable furniture, chairs and a good heating system!  We have up to date audio and visual facilities and the building is fully accessible; all our visitors talk about the warmth of welcome when they come in.  Our attached hall is used for many community and church events.

Our main meeting of the week is Sunday worship each week at 11.00am.

We have a screen - hymns are projected and prayers/ responses may be projected.

We have copies of Hymns and Psalms, and the 1999 version of Complete Mission Praise although with the screen we can accommodate other sources, especially Singing the Faith.

We have NIV pew bibles.

We have a small Junior Church which joins in the first part of the service and then has their own activities.

Coffee/tea is served in the schoolroom after every service.

During the week

We also meet for coffee on Tuesdays between 10.30 and 12. All are welcome.

Women’s Bright Hour meets on Thursdays at 3pm.

There are also many one-off events which are advertised on our notice board by the railway bridge or through the website.
